Lady Sophia White, apple of her father's eye, has promised to endure one more London season. Sophia attends another ball, sips another lemonade, and dances another waltz until her head spins. Suddenly feeling ill and trying to leave the ball, her head is too fuzzy to properly react when she is shoved into the wrong carriage.

Faine Knight, local physician, makes a point of keeping his home life separate from his work. When he stumbles upon an injured woman in the woods, he does the unthinkable and brings her to his house. Not only is Faine suspicious of the wounded beauty, but she cannot remember who she is.
